VASCULAR TISSUES AND
BIOMECHANICS LAB RESEARCH

A Computational Investigation of Right Ventricular Function
2018

Starting in 2018, I worked at the Vascular Tissues and Biomechanics lab at UW Madison.  I worked under Dr. Naomi Chesler and was mentored by Ryan Pewowaruk.  The lab focused on many aspects of the cardiovascular system, but I specifically focused on computationally modeling the CV system using a multiscale model in MATLAB. The effects of pulmonary vascular resistance, metabolite concentrations, and maximum myofilament force generation were observed and recorded.

Throughout my work at the VTB lab, I learned a vast amount about the CV system. I also related my knowledge of electrical circuits to this biological system.  The relationship between the CV and circuits was fascinating work and was conducted exclusively on MATLAB.
